½tspFresh Orange Zest - from a ripe, sweet navel orange. Reserve the rest of the orange for pressing/juicing.
½ozSpiced Rum
½ozFireball Cinnamon Whiskey
1ozOrange Juice - freshly squeezed
1ozCranberry Juice
¼ozSimple Syrup
1bottleCold Champagne - or prosecco - already chilled
Purple and Orange Sanding Sugars - optional - for cocktail rim

Grab your champagne glass and gently swipe it with a slice of fresh orange. Now dip the rim of the glass into a little orange or purple sanding sugar (or both). Set aside.
Sprinkle pinches of fresh orange zest into the bottom of your cocktail shaker. To the same cocktail shaker add the spiced rum and cinnamon whiskey.
Now, to the same cocktail shaker, splash in cranberry juice, freshly squeezed orange juice, and simple syrup. Be sure to zest your oranges before pressing so you can add that essence to the cocktail shaker first.
Fill your cocktail shaker with ice, cover, and shake all ingredients together well until very cold and chilled all the way through.
Strain the Halloween cocktail mixture into two prepared champagne flutes.
Divide the cocktail mixture evenly between two champagne flutes, pouring a little at a time into the bottom of each flute until both have reached the same level.
Top off each glass the rest of the way with the cold prosecco or champagne and garnish a skewered orange twist. Serve very cold.
