Equipment

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Bourbon - Four Roses Bourbon or your favorite good quality brand
  • 8 leaves Fresh Mint
  • 1/2 oz Simple Syrup
  • 1 handful Fresh Ripe Blueberries
  • Crushed Ice - see instructions listed above

Instructions

  • Grab a julep cup or rocks glass and pour in the simple syrup. Add mint leaves and blueberries to the cup.
  • Muddle everything together with the syrup until fragrant and crushed.
  • Pour in bourbon and top everything off with crushed ice 3/4 of the way or a little more. Stir with a bar spoon until everything is combined and the julep cup begins to fog up on the outside from the icy coldness of the cocktail.
  • Top the rest of the way with more crushed ice and garnish with fresh sprigs of mint and a skewer of blueberries, if desired. Serve immediately, nice and cold!
