Equipment

Glass container or pitcher, muddler or food processor

Ingredients

  • 10 cups Water
  • Tea Bags Lipton Tea Bags or Green Tea Bags - or your favorite iced tea bags
  • 1 to 2 cups Fresh Strawberries
  • Honey / Sweetener
  • Lemon or Lime Juice - fresh squeezed

Instructions

  • In a pitcher, add tea bags and then pour in some filtered water and set the container out in direct sunlight, on a warm sunny day. The tea will begin to steep with the heat of the sun. Set outside for 1 to 3 hours, depending on how strong you like it.
  • When brewed to desired strength, bring inside and remove tea bags. Add strawberry flavor to the tea by: muddling strawberries and adding to your glass with fresh lime juice and a little honey (or your favorite sweetener.
Or, add strawberry flavor by pureeing a cup or more of fresh strawberries in a blender/food processor with a little fresh lemon or lime juice and your desired sweetener. Sweeten to taste and add puree to the pitcher or your glass, to control the amount better. Add ice and stir. Enjoy on a hot summer day.

Notes

I used smaller tea bags and a pitcher filled with 10 cups of water took about 7 to 8 small bags to steep within an hour to an hour and a half.  Leave longer, if desired and taste as you go to be sure it's brewed to desired strength.
