Make Some Colorful Cocktail Ice
For this fun berry-studded cocktail ice, just grab an ice tray and toss a few raspberries and blueberries into each section. Now pour in some water and freeze!
Toss these berry cubes in with your cocktails or iced tea for a colorful way to cool your drinks! These larger cocktail ice cubes got dressed up with strawberry and basil for a berry-licious old fashioned cocktail!
Grab A Glass + Add Ice
Toss a few ice cubes into your glass and start building the cocktail…
Splash In Some Brandy
To the ice, add a splash of brandy, simple syrup, and lemon juice.
Add Orange Liqueur
Splash in some orange liqueur. I used Grand Marnier which is a delicious cognac-based orange liqueur. It gives the cocktail a little bit of body and a super delicious taste. The orange flavor does not overpower the cocktail at all but instead gives it light notes of citrus that blend in with the lemon and apple flavors…
Give Everything A Stir
Grab a spoon and stir everything in with the ice until combined a chilled through.

Top Off With Apple Juice + Sparkling Water
Top everything off with apple juice and a splash of sparkling water for fruitiness and fizz! I actually used lemon-flavored La Croix sparkling water to play off the lemon and citrus notes but plain is perfectly fine. Sometimes its fun to play with flavored sparkling waters as they add a bubbly pop of flavor and make everything more refreshing!
Garnish With Fresh Lemon
Garnish with fresh lemon or apple slices. Even some berries sprinkled in would look stunning!
This apple brandy fizz cocktail is a truly simple blend of ingredients that make up an easy refreshing cocktail to pour anytime. The classic brandy highball is a simpler mix of brandy and sparkling water. This jazzed up version with apple and orange liqueur makes for a dressed-up version that you can make any time with simple ingredients.
Substitutions/Suggestions:
- If you don’t have brandy, use bourbon or whiskey! Bourbon would make a delicious highball as well and blends perfectly with apple and citrus!
- Either apple juice or apple cider would work really well in this cocktail.
- Make a citrus version of your cocktail ice cubes with thin slices of orange and/or lemon. Cut your lemon or orange into thin wheel slices and then quarter the slices into smaller pieces. Tuck them into the ice molds and freeze! This would make stunning ice for the cocktails too.
You can easily make this super simple and refreshing apple brandy fizz with ingredients you most likely have on hand! Feel free to twist it up and change it to fit your tastes! This tasty list of highball cocktails puts a few fun spins on the classic cocktail.
If you don’t have sparkling water, trying fizzing this up with ginger ale or lemon soda. My mom’s favorite highball cocktails were always bubbling with a splash of ginger ale and fresh lemon. She would dot hers with maraschino cherries and fresh lemon slices. Highball cocktails are super fun and refreshing…there are so many varieties and ways to switch up a highball and really make it yours! What’s your favorite version? Do you use fruit juice? Soda? Citrus? Do you prefer a vodka highball or a gin highball? I love to just go with the flow and see what I can mix up next!
