The ease and simplicity really makes this the perfect Christmas cocktail to mix up and serve for a holiday shindig in a flash!

The Shortcut: Pre-made Piña Colada Mix

To make these fun Christmas party coladas, I use Bacardi Mixers frozen piña colada mix. Alternatively, you can use your favorite piña colada recipe or your favorite piña colada mix as a shortcut.

If you can’t find the Bacardi mixers brand in the frozen section, I highly recommend Torani’s piña colada smoothie mix, Island Oasis piña colada drink mix, or Frusheez piña colada slushie mix. You can still follow about the same ratio of rum and ice while adjusting as needed.

We’ll set the cocktail shaker aside for now and bust out the blender. This cocktail mix comes pre-packaged in the frozen section and makes an easy consistent cocktail every time.

It comes in concentrate form so be sure to add enough ice to the blender to make it frosty and creamy! If you like it less sweet, you can always just add more ice or even a splash of unsweetened coconut cream.

To turn this into a blender cocktail simply add the frozen piña colada cocktail mix to the blender. For best results, I like to start by adding half a cup of rum.

Add Rum To the Piña Colada Blender Mix

You can use a pyrex or measuring cups to help with measuring spirits. Here I decided to eyeball it using the carton from the cocktail mix.

add rum to pre made pina colada mix and blend

If you feel like the taste of the rum hasn’t come through in the cocktail after blending, delicately work your way up by the ounce using a jigger. As I always say with punches and batch cocktails, be careful not to overdo it too much. You can always pour it in but you can’t take it back out if it’s too much.

Add Plenty Of Ice To Make the Christmas Rum Cocktail Smooth and Creamy

Next, add plenty of ice. I used the same carton that came with the piña colada mix to fill with ice and toss into the blender. I tossed in about 3 full measures of ice using the carton which is equal to about 3 cups. This kept the cocktail on the sweet and creamy side!

decorate with a cocktail stirrer or make your own with christmas stickers

You might choose to add between 3 and 5 cups of ice depending on how sweet you’d like the Christmas rum cocktail. The pre-made piña colada mix really does keep things simple and consistent. That’s why it makes the perfect Christmas drink every time you make it!

Make Colorful Christmas Cocktail Rims

Immediately dip in the colorful sanding sugars. It helps to spread the sugars on a flat plate for dipping the glasses in an even layer.Once you’ve dipped your glasses, place them in the freezer to set.

Do this in advance before making the cocktail. This will give the cocktail glasses a chance to chill all the way through.
