Serve The Chocolate Coffee Shots In A Chocolate-Dipped Glass
To serve up these easy mini New Year’s Eve cocktails, I’ll use little clear plastic footed shot glasses. The ones with a base have a fun and elegant feel to them. I like to lightly dip the rims in a little chocolate sauce and then spray them with a little gold luster dust or what’s referred to as gold edible glitter.
It adds that extra special touch of glamorous gold we so love to see at New Year’s Eve parties. These festive cocktails will have the perfect mix of elegance and deep delicious flavors and they can be served at any New Year’s Eve celebration. Here’s how to make them!
Make Midnight Chocolate Coffee New Year’s Eve Shots
Lightly dip shot glasses in a bit of the chocolate sauce and spray with gold luster dust. Set aside. In a cocktail shaker, splash in the coffee and white rum.
To get the coffee, I simply placed a pod of what is currently my favorite coffee into my Keurig machine. I then selected the ‘strong’ setting and chose the smallest serving available. This gave me a nice strong concentrated coffee flavor to infuse these festive winter holiday shots. You can use any coffee/any machine you like, just brew a nice strong cup of coffee and then cool it to room temperature before using.
Add Chocolate Sauce, Vanilla, Cinnamon
Drizzle in about 2 tablespoons of the Ghirardelli chocolate sauce. Next, splash in the vanilla along with a pinch of cinnamon.
Add Vanilla Ice Cream
Lastly, drop in a small scoop of softened good vanilla ice cream such as Haagen-Dazs. Fill the cocktail shaker with ice until it’s about 3/4 of the way full and cover.
Combine Cocktail and Serve Right Away, Serve Cold
Shake the coffee, white rum, chocolate sauce, vanilla, cinnamon, and vanilla ice cream until cold and combined. Remove the lid and check to see that the ice cream has completely combined into the rest of the cocktail. If not, continue shaking until it disappears.
Using a strainer, pour the New Year’s Eve shots evenly and divide into 5 or 6 shot glasses. They should make about 5 or 6 one ounce shots.
I cannot stress enough that the best way to serve these is really nice and cold right after pouring! If you’re hoping to serve something else besides your typical champagne jello shots, this is a great alternative. The chocolate and coffee flavors are elegant and perfect for serving at the beginning, middle, or end of your festivities (especially if you have a sweet tooth).
It’s also perfect for those of you who love a coffee martini, a coffee cocktail, or an espresso martini recipe. These chocolate coffee New Year’s shots are inspired by the same flavor profile.
This is the perfect nye party drink to keep everyone going at the stroke of midnight! Keep this easy drink handy and party guests happy with a New Year’s Eve cocktail that tastes as good as it looks!
