To make this festive and fun non-alcoholic Harry Potter themed drink, you’ll need to hold your wizard’s wand over the cauldron as you splash in your ingredients.
A Splash of Non Alcoholic Sparkling Cider adds Fizzy Fruity Flavor…
In place of stewed lacewing flies, we’ll use a bit of cocktail cherry syrup. Instead of fluxweed picked in the full moonlight, we’ll add a hint of maple syrup.
A bit of non-alcoholic Martinelli’s sparkling apple cider will add fizzle and pop while fruity splashes of cranberry juice and orange juice pull everything together.
Balance out the sweetness with hints of freshly squeezed lime juice, and remember to stir everything clockwise! Wave your wand over the potion one last time, activating the brew with your very own special Halloween magic.
This easy Halloween punch recipe is so simple you won’t even need to steal the ingredients from Professor Snape’s cupboards! So… maybe set that jar of leeches back down, won’t you? Just head down to the apothecary instead, and grab a handful of simple ingredients…

Full instructions and a recipe are both listed there with the addition of a few ingredients you’ll add to make this a festive boozy grown-up drink!
You might recall that the use of the Polyjuice Potion leads to the scene of the seven Harrys in the Deathly Hallows. In this story, the Polyjuice Potion turns a shimmering gold color when Harry’s essence is added to the brew.
We thought it would be fun to add a pinch of glittering gold dust to the finished punch to represent Harry’s true essence in the Polyjuice Potion. You can buy loose edible gold dust in a small bottle and stir in, or purchase in the form of a spray and gently spray over the top of the punch, stirring it in.
I actually keep a bottle of the rose gold, silver, and gold glitter sprays and use in everything from Halloween and holiday cocktails to New Year’s Eve champagne cocktails for beautiful added effect.
To serve your shimmering Polyjuice Potion punch, grab a punch cup, and fill with ice and ladle in your ruby red potion! Garnish with lots of fresh fruits plus cherries and serve very cold.

- 2 oz Cocktail Cherry Syrup - from a bottle of good quality cocktail cherries
- 1 oz 100% Pure Maple Syrup
- 2 wedges Fresh Lime - or more as desired, for squeezing in to balance sweetness of punch. Taste, stir, and adjust as desired.
- 1 whole Blood Orange - thin sliced into wheels for floating on punch
- 1 whole Red Apple - gala apple or fuji red apple thin sliced for floating on top of punch
- Edible Gold Dust - optional, for stirring in or spraying on for added effect
- 3 or 4 cans Lime La Croix Sparkling Water - optional, nice for lightly topping off and adding additional refreshing finish to each serving of punch per cup. You can set these next to the punch bowl and add per serving as desired.
Instructions
- In a medium punch bowl, splash in the cold cranberry juice and cold orange juice.
- Next, splash in the small bit of cocktail cherry syrup/juices from the bottle of cherries plus the maple syrup.
- In the same bowl, splash in the chilled Martinelli’s sparkling apple cider. Stir everything together with a ladle. Stir well until combined.
- Lastly, squeeze in the juice from 2 cut wedges of fresh lime. Gently stir in the lime juice and taste for balance, adding in more lime juice by the wedge as desired to balance the sweetness. (Additionally, you can also finish with splashes of bubbly water from a can of La Croix sparkling water.)
- Finish the punch by floating thin slices of blood orange and red apple on top. Optionally, stir in edible gold glitter and swirl into the Polyjuice Punch for added effect.
- Contents of heavier liquids may settle towards the bottom of the bowl, so remember to give the punch an even stir before serving each time.
- To serve, fill a punch cup with ice and ladle in the punch. Garnish with a cocktail cherry and some slices of blood orange and apple. Serve very cold. You may top off each ladle of punch with a hint of bubbly sparkling water or even lime flavored La Croix sparkling water for a cool fizzy finish.
