Harry Potter Polyjuice Potion Halloween Punch Recipe with Bourbon
Ingredients
- 4 cups Cranberry Juice - such as Simply Cranberry or Langers Craberry – chilled
- 1 cup Orange Juice - I used Simply Orange juice – chilled
- 1½ cup Martinelli's Sparkling Cider - from a bottle of Martinelli's sparkling non alcoholic cider – chilled
- 1 to 2 cups Dry Prosecco or Champagne - already chilled
- 3/4 cup Bourbon - 3/4 cup to 1 cup – good quality favorite bourbon
- 2 oz Cocktail Cherry Syrup (from Woodford Reserve Bourbon Infused Cherries) - or from a bottle of good quality cocktail cherries – I used Woodford Reserve bourbon infused cocktail cherries
- 1 oz 100% Pure Maple Syrup
- 2 wedges Fresh Lime - or more as desired, for squeezing in to balance sweetness of punch. Taste, stir, and adjust as desired.
- 1 whole Blood Orange - thin sliced into wheels for floating on punch
- 1 whole Red Apple - gala apple or fuji red apple thin sliced for floating on top of punch
- Edible Gold Dust - optional, for stirring in or spraying on for added effect
Instructions
- In a medium punch bowl, splash in the cold cranberry juice and cold orange juice.
- Next, splash in the small bit of cocktail cherry syrup/juices from the bottle of cherries plus the maple syrup.
- Add between 3/4 cup to 1 cup of your favorite good quality bourbon to complement the infused bourbon cherry juice in the punch.
- Next, squeeze in the juice from 1 or 2 cut wedges of fresh lime. Gently stir in the lime juice and taste for balance, adding in more lime juice by the wedge as desired to balance the sweetness.
- In the same bowl, splash in the chilled Martinelli's sparkling apple cider. Now Splash in about half a bottle of dry prosecco sparkling wine or dry champagne.
- Finish the punch by floating thin slices of blood orange and red apple on top. Optionally, stir in edible gold glitter and swirl into the Polyjuice Punch for added effect.
- Contents of heavier liquids may settle towards the bottom of the bowl, so remember to give the punch an even stir before serving each time.
- To serve, fill a punch cup with ice and ladle in the punch. Garnish with a cocktail cherry and some slices of blood orange and apple. Serve very cold.
