To create this lovely homemade punch recipe just in time for spring, there’s just a few things you’ll wanna grab…
Ingredients To Make A Purple Wobbly Rabbit Easter Brunch Punch
- Good quality gin – such as Hendrick’s gin or purple Empress Gin which blends in seamlessly and keeps the flavor of the punch bright, zesty, and crisp.
- Blue curaçao – the liqueur NOT the syrup. Such as DeKuyper blue curaçao, Bols blue curaçao, or Du Bouchett blue curaçao. Not Torani brand as this is not a liquor, just a syrup. This blue liqueur adds extra flavor and color with its delicious fruity citrus taste.
- Strawberry lemonade – some strawberry lemonade juices are sweeter than others. I highly recommend the one I used (Simple Truth Organic Strawberry Lemonade) or one with 22 grams of sugar or less per serving to better control overall sweetness and flavor of the punch.
- Simple syrup
- Fresh lemon juice – as well as sliced lemon wheels for floating over the top
- A few drops of red natural food coloring – to amplify the color and help bring out a deep amethyst purple color!
- A bottle of champagne or sparkling prosecco wine – for a sparkling fizzy finish (half of which you can pour into the bowl or leave next to the punch and top off individual servings by the glass, as desired
As I mentioned above, you can pour half or so of the sparkling champagne or prosecco wine into the punch bowl. You could then set the rest of the bottle off to the side to let guests top off a pour of this fruity gin punch with the sparkling wine as well. It keeps the fizz in tact and makes this tasty spring-inspired fruity punch recipe all the more vibrant, refreshing, and delicious!
While you’re at it, save a little prosecco for this easy sparkling pink cottontail Easter cocktail as well!

Tips to Keep this Festive Purple Wobbly Rabbit Gin Punch As Delicious As possible!
- When making the Easter punch recipe, taste it! It’s the only way to make sure it’s perfect for guests!
- Begin by adding the gin, blue curaçao, plus strawberry lemonade fruit juice in first and taste to make sure it’s not too sweet already (this depends on the brand of juice you buy). Follow up with simple syrup as needed. If unsure or if you prefer a more dry, less sweet punch, start with a 1/4 cup of simple syrup instead of 1/2 cup and work your way up.
- The blue curaçao liqueur may have a grayish tint when mixed with colorless clear gin, and the strawberry lemonade. (I used clear, colorless, good quality Hendrick’s gin). Add drops of red food coloring to bring out more purple color. I used about 4 or 5 drops of natural red food coloring to bring out a deep amethyst purple color for the Easter punch. Start with 2 or 3 drops, mix in, then add as needed to get desired effect.
- If using a purple gin like Empress 1908 Gin, the food coloring may not be necessary as this type of gin changes color within the punch by itself. When the lemon juice is added, note the color change. You can also see how it works in this Empress gin cocktail and this Empress gin martini!
- Some strawberry lemonade juices are sweeter than others. I highly recommend the one I used by Simple Truth Organic or one with 22 grams of sugar or less per serving to better control sweetness.
- Lastly, balance out the flavors with fresh squeezed lemon juice. If still too sweet, adjust by adding in another tablespoon or so of fresh-squeezed lemon juice.
- Reserve an extra lemon for slicing and garnishing the bowl (or use sliced strawberries).
- Top with that sparkling wine/prosecco for a crisp fizzing finish. Additionally, you can keep the bottle next to the punch bowl for anyone who wants to top off their cup with more fizz.
- Don’t put ice in the punch bowl. Instead, set an ice bucket (or bowl) with serving tongs next to the punch bowl. Let guests fill cups with ice as desired and ladle the punch. Serve ice cold. This will keep the punch from watering down too much.
