The ingredients are not very exotic, but they make mouthwatering results. The key here is using super fresh lime juice. This, combined with a little simple syrup or agave nectar, makes up the “sour mix” part of the cocktail. That’s pretty much it! Sweetness and fresh acidity from the citrus create a delicious base for this easy margarita.

Mix Up Your Prosecco Margarita by trying some of these variations!

  • If you want to add a spicy and fruity kick to these, try muddling a few jalapeño slices in your mixing glass before pouring everything else in, then splash in some pineapple juice! Now you have a spicy pineapple jalapeño version!
  • Craving some Paloma type flavors? Splash in a little grapefruit juice! It might be quite tart with the lime already happening so add a little more simple syrup or agave nectar and sweeten to taste.
  • My personal favorite? Berries! Muddle a strawberry or two at the bottom of your glass and then pour in the rest of the ingredients, shake, pour! That’s exactly what I did with this mango strawberry margarita on the rocks and this triple berry purple Witch’s Potion Halloween margarita!
  • You could also turn this margarita recipe into a “Classic Margarita” by taking out the simple syrup/agave nectar and replacing it with 1 shot of Cointreau orange liqueur, if desired.
