In order to get a richer and deeper depth of flavor, I like to add a sprinkling of chipotle powder. Every time I make this easy instant pot hot chili recipe, I add a hefty kick of chipotle powder seasoning blend. As the chili simmers in the instant pot with the chipotle, it develops a nice deep smoky flavor that you really can’t compare to anything else. It adds backbone and great taste.

I always use Mesa Rosa chipotle spice which is a southwestern smoky chipotle spice that deepens the flavor and adds its own intensity and layer of flavor to the finished chili.

It isn’t overly spicy but rich in flavor. If you like a spicier finish to your instant pot hot chili, you could add in dashes of Tabasco hot sauce, or cayenne powder to kick up the heat.
