I always love the colors that this time of season brings out. Bright orange, reds, browns and spice colors. Everything warm. The colors made me to want to create something beautiful and easy! Something expressive of the season that I can display on a counter top or small side table. So, I thought I would share this pretty diy fall decor that you can use to accent any tabletop. It took me all of 5 minutes to make with cute fall foliage bouquets I found at Michael’s craft store.
Michael’s usually has a nice selection of artificial fall foliage type bouquets (sometimes it’s called a spray). These are all connected and come as one piece. They also have single stem fall foliage so you can select specific colors or details to add to your artificial arrangement.
I picked up a few of these and basically cut them up. I separated each stem so that I could mix and match them into something a little more to my liking. This gives me flexibility and I am able to customize the flowers to my liking and make them more elegant. I used a small glass vase with a little ribbon tied around the top. Check out how to do it!
Cut And Separate The Stems
With a wire cutter, cut apart all the different stems with leaves and flowers and berries so that you can mix and match them.
Choose A Container
Get a small empty vase/container. If you have ribbon, dress it up by tying a little ribbon or twine around the top.
Fill In The Bottom
If your container is clear, line the bottom with some leaves from the bouquet.
This helps to cover up the wires from showing on the bottom of the container.
Start Arranging
Arrange the flowers and leaves to your liking. I bent in/folded the bottoms of some stems and left others long. This way I was able to layer some longer pieces on top and shorter ones on the bottom.
Make the bright and colorful flowers the longer or top pieces. Form the bottom or lower part of the arrangement with berries and leaves. Try different combinations of whatever you fancy!
Tie ribbon or twine around the top of the vase for a pretty added extra detail.
You can make a couple of these and line them down the center of a table over a runner and create a beautiful tabletop.
They can be placed on a small accent table as a festive decoration (that’s what I did!).
