Before we get to what you’ll need to make up this easy Christmas punch recipe, here are some quick tips to keep your festive Christmas punch tasting good!
- Be sure to pour in the La Croix lime sparkling water, Fever Tree ginger beer, and dry prosecco sparkling wine in at the end so as to preserve as much fizz as possible and stir in gently.
- Use basic green apple liqueur such as Dekuyper apple liqueur or Bols green apple liqueur. If not available, use something similar with a punch of fruity apple taste such as apple schnapps.
- Use your favorite good quality bourbon.
- Use dry brut prosecco sparkling wine and dry rose wine that is not sweet. If dry rose wine isn’t available use dry white wine such as pinot grigio or sauvignon blanc. We will sweeten it as we go so please use dry varieties only.
- Use premium Ginger beer. The best one with consistent flavor, crisp vibrant fizz, and good ol’ Christmassy ginger spice is Fever Tree ginger beer. It’s my absolute favorite and I highly recommend in everything from Moscow mule cocktails to punches just like this one.
- Use fresh squeezed orange juice (not bottled) and use fresh squeezed lime juice as this will yield the crispest and brightest flavors in your punch.
- Top off with lots of fresh fruit and add large sized cocktail ice cubes to the punch. They will melt slowly keeping the flavors in tact.
- If you like it less sweet, balance out with extra squeezes of fresh lime wedges and dabs more of sparkling wine on top. This will make a dryer, fizzier punch.
