To add hints of super tasty fruity flavor, I added frozen strawberries and sliced frozen peaches which I grabbed from the frozen section of my grocery store.
Strawberries + Wine = Yum!
This combination is really simple and tastes great together. The strawberries really come through and taste delicious with the red wine when blended.
How To Make Frozen Peachy Strawberry Red Wine Slushies
A Fun Way To Use Up Boxed Wine
I used Bota Box Pinot Noir, which is a boxed red wine. This is a fun recipe to make if you have boxed wine on hand. You can just grab your measuring up and splash it right into the blender and go from there! Otherwise, a bottle of red wine works just fine, too.
I actually just grabbed a pyrex measuring glass and poured out 3 cups of Bota Box Pinot Noir. This dry Pinot Noir wine is actually super perfect in this cocktail because it already boasts natural notes of big red berries and sunny fruit.

Use A Simple Red Wine
Super important to keep in mind: Don’t use expensive wine! We’re loading it up with stuff and making these boozy wine slushies with it. Use an inexpensive dry red wine that you can easily flavor up with the ingredients we’re gonna toss in next! Pinot Noir, Merlot, or a fruity red blend would all work well!

Blend Fruit & Wine In the Blender
Toss frozen strawberries and peaches in the blender and blend until smooth and combined.
Add Liqueur
Next, splash in liqueur and brandy or gold rum or vanilla vodka. I know this sounds crazy, but these will add vanilla notes that round out the cocktail and make it taste sooooo good. It just gives the fruit and wine an extra special layer of tastiness. Splash it in and put the lid back on and blend to combine once more.

Adding Peachy Or Fruity Liqueur
For the liqueur, I used raspberry peach flavored Grand Marnier and that played really well with the frozen peaches in the slushy. Alternatively, you might splash in some peach liqueur/schnapps if you don’t have the peach Grand Marnier. If you choose a substitute liqueur, use this ingredient sparingly as you don’t want the sweetness or the peach flavor to take over the whole drink. Start with a few tablespoons and go from there.
Garnish with strawberries and a lime wheel or skewered peach and strawberry chunks! Serve in a wine glass with a little straw, if desired. Make these quick boozy red wine slushies when you want a delicious frozen cocktail to cool off! It’s just like a strawberry peach frozen sangria… a summertime favorite you’ll come back to again and again…
Tipsy Tips:
- To measure I used a glass Pyrex liquid measuring cup for figuring out the wine, simple syrup, and spirits
- For a slushier consistency add more ice
- For a thicker consistency add more frozen fruit
- If you don’t have brandy, use gold rum or vanilla vodka. Anything with warm vanilla notes to it will work. This highlights the fruity flavors in the frozen cocktail and laces everything with a special and delicious taste!
- To store you could put leftover slushy mix in a freezer bag and then take it back out 20 to 30 minutes before you plan on drinking it. Â Maybe stir it as it begins to soften to mix into a nicer consistency as you pour.Â
- For alternative sweetener ideas: Use splenda, stevia, honey, or agave nectar (as with any sugar substitute, carefully add in very little at a time until desired sweetness is achieved)
- For less overall sugar:Â Â Skip the brandy or rum, skip the orange liqueur, and simply make with ice, wine, fruit, and, if desired, your sweetener of choice. Â This will change the taste of the original recipe, but you can always add more fruit to balance it out.
Frozen Peachy Strawberry Red Wine Slushies
Equipment
Ingredients
- 3 cups Fruity Dry Red Wine - such as Pinot Noir (or 1 bottle dry red wine)
- 2 1/2 cups Frozen Strawberries - I used whole frozen strawberries
- 2 1/2 cups Frozen Peach Slices
- 3/4 cup Simple Syrup - add more/less (sweeten to desired taste)
- 1/4 cup Brandy - or gold rum/vanilla vodka anything with vanilla notes
- 1/4 cup Grand Marnier - I used peach raspberry flavored / Plain Grand Marnier is fine
- 1 1/2 cup Ice - or more if desired. Add ice until slushy texture is achieved
Instructions
- Add wine and frozen fruit to blender. Seal and blend on high until smooth.
- Open back up and add brandy, Grand Marnier (or orange liqueur), simple syrup, and ice cubes. Blend once more until smooth and combined. Add ice until a slushy frozen texture is achieved. Start with a cup and go from there.
- Adding ice will dilute everything slightly so if it's not sweet enough you can always add more simple syrup at this point. If you would like a thicker consistency, add more frozen fruit/ice as desired.
- Pour into wine glasses and garnish with flowers or fresh fruit.
