Ingredients To Make A 4th of July Prosecco Cocktail
- Chilled prosecco or champagne – dry, brut style sparkling wine that’s not sweet, we’ll make it sweet with fruit and a hint of liqueur.
- Elderflower liqueur – such as St. Germain or St. Elder liqueur – a delicious fruity nectar-like liqueur with notes of white flowers, apricot, and melon that will add elegance and dimension to our 4th of July sparkling wine cocktail.
- Colorful fruit to skewer on cocktail picks – in this case red, white, and blue fruit: raspberries, blueberries, and ripe cubed white honeydew melon.
The fresh fruit and festive picks are what really dress this simple cocktail the rest of the way. To create a most festive red, white, and blue garnish for our chilled prosecco 4th of July drinks, you’ll layer up some colorful fruit for the cups…
Make a Festive Red White and Blue Drink for 4th of July
I find that these fun and colorful firework design cocktail picks work nicely to decorate patriotic drinks but are often too short to line the length of a champagne glass.
To create enough height, I first skewer the fruit onto a regular bamboo cocktail skewer. I then stick the festive fireworks pick into the tops of the finished little fruit kabobs. Voila, the fruit is now long enough to line the full length of the cups.
Otherwise, you can use the smaller fireworks cocktail picks in a shorter glass, like for example, these silver party cups, and they’ll work fine on their own. It’s all in how you’d like to present it!
Since this is for a casual summer event, I’d say either long flutes, plastic champagne flutes, or short party cups would all work fine.
Whether you serve them at a backyard cookout, a beachfront picnic, or at night in the park for the fireworks, these easy patriotic prosecco sparklers are chill, refreshing, and fit to please a crowd! Don’t forget to do up the table with festive colors when you set up this festive red, white, and blue 4th of July table decor outside!
Only thing left to do now is clink your glasses, look up, and enjoy the show…
